Photo: The Canadian Press TORONTO — Utah’s NHL team was forced to walk to their game against the Maple Leafs after their bus got stuck in Toronto traffic Sunday night, prompting Premier Doug Ford to call the city’s gridlock “embarrassing.” The Utah Hockey Club posted on social media a video of team members marching to Scotiabank Arena, with player Maveric Lamoureux saying the bus was “not moving at all.” Several city streets had been closed during the day for the annual Santa Claus parade. “I think that’s a first for everyone,” Lamoureux quipped in the video as the group walked along the downtown streets. “Never saw that before.” The viral incident prompted Premier Doug Ford to call the road congestion "unacceptable,” highlighting his government's plan to address the city's gridlock through bike lane legislation. "We're really focused on the congestion in Toronto,” he said Monday at an unrelated press conference. “It's the worst congested city in North America, third worst in the entire world, even to the point last night it was embarrassing that the Utah Hockey Club has to get out of the bus and start walking to the hockey arena.” Ford said people are “avoiding downtown” due to the traffic, pointing to bike lanes as part of the problem. Ontario passed a divisive bike lane bill on Monday that will require municipalities to get the province’s approval to install bike lanes when they would remove a lane for vehicles. The bill also removes sections of bike lanes in Toronto and restores them as lanes for vehicle traffic. At a press conference on Monday, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow pointed to the Santa Claus parade as the cause of Sunday's gridlock. "All the big floats and the people flooding out from the Santa Claus parade was jamming that whole area," Chow said. "It was just because of that reason." Chow said while she's glad the Leafs won the game, she's sorry the Utah team got caught in the congestion. "Santa didn't conspire together with the Leafs," she said. Chow had said in September that the city's traffic congestion measures are working, according to data that shows travel times along certain corridors have sped up. The Utah Hockey Club's walk to the arena wasn't the first time a Toronto visitor had to ditch their vehicle to make it to an event on time. In June, former One Direction band member Niall Horan had to walk through bumper-to-bumper traffic to get to his concert at Scotiabank Arena. “Traffic’s too bad in Toronto, so we’re walking to the venue," he said in a social media post at the time. "In all the years playing shows, I don't think I ever walked to a venue." "Remember today. Remember it because it's a textbook reminder of what happens when you decide the mega capitalization stocks are done, when you think that they're written off," he said. "The moment you give up on them — what happens? They come roaring back." Cramer reviewed the action in stocks including Apple , Amazon , Nvidia , Microsoft and Meta . Many of these names led the market for much of this year, and Cramer explained what might have caused their gains during the day's session. According to Cramer, Apple and Amazon are reaping the rewards of two positive analyst notes, with Bank of America praising the latter's e-commerce and online advertising businesses. Morgan Stanley suggested Apple's iPhone upgrade rates are improving, perhaps bolstered by its new artificial intelligence programming. Cramer expressed optimism about CEO Tim Cook's ability to negotiate with China as the threat of high tariffs floated by President-elect Donald Trump looms. Cramer was less certain about the reasons for Tuesday's wins in Meta and Microsoft. But he suggested the software maker could have seen a boost because Best Buy reported decent sales of AI PCs, which bodes well for the company's Co-Pilot program. He also pointed out that Nvidia unveiled a new product Tuesday, Fugatto , an AI model designed to generate audio. "Here's the bottom line: don't begrudge the megacaps," Cramer said. "Don't spoof them. Don't even attack them. Just buy them." Click here to download Jim Cramer's Guide to Investing at no cost to help you build long-term wealth and invest smarter. MADRID (AP) — Spanish King Felipe VI used his traditional Christmas Eve speech to remember the victims of the catastrophic Valencia flash floods, and urged the country to remain calm despite public debates around hot-button issues such as immigration and housing affordability. In a pre-recorded speech that usually reviews the year’s most relevant issues, Felipe said Spain “must never forget the pain and sadness” the flood have caused. The Oct. 29 floods killed more than 225 people in eastern Spain, damaging countless homes and leaving graveyards of cars piled on top of each other. In some towns, the heavy downpours that caused the floods dropped as much as a year’s worth of rain in just eight hours. In early November, as Spaniards’ shock at the wreckage turned into frustration, a political blame game began, directed especially at regional authorities who failed to send timely emergency alerts to cell phones on the day of the floods. The frustration of residents in hard-hit Paiporta near Valencia was on display when people tossed mud and shouted insults at the king and government officials in early November when they made their first visit to the town. “We have seen — and understood — the frustration, the pain, the impatience, the demands for greater and more effective coordination,” Felipe said about how the disaster was managed, adding that he had asked that aid be sent to everyone who needed it. He also addressed the country’s housing crunch and high rents, which have become a leading concern in this European Union country that is the eurozone’s fourth-largest economy. Fast-rising rents are especially acute in cities like Barcelona and Madrid, where incomes have failed to keep up, especially for younger people in a country with chronically high unemployment. Felipe urged that “all the actors involved reflect” and “listen to each other” so that they facilitate bringing access to housing under “affordable conditions.” Spain’s immigration debate should keep in mind the country’s European partners and immigrants’ countries of origin, Felipe said, warning that “the way in which we are able to address immigration ... will say a lot in the future about our principles and the quality of our democracy.” Felipe said Spain need to remain calm in the public sphere, even in the face of a “sometimes thunderous” contest in its politics. DETAILS OF THE CASE: According to the lawsuit, during the Class Period, defendants made false and/or misleading statements that represented the quality of inventory and the appropriateness of the levels of inventories carried by Hasbro and its retailers compared to customer demand. In truth, however, Hasbro had a significant buildup of inventory that it was struggling to manage and which far exceeded customer demand. As a result, defendants’ statements about Hasbro’s inventory, and what inventory levels reflected regarding demand, were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.
